But for some digital lock, you don’t need to remember it as you can use the master pincode to open your door. So easy right. And you also can use your Phone app to set your Pincode, Fingerprint, Access card and give temporary passwords to your friends or cousins.

There are many types of door that we usually use for our house, such as Paneled door, Metal door, Flush door, Glass door, wooden door and many more. But in this post i will only touch 2 types of door that people always use that is Metal door and wooden door.

what are the digital lock model that you can use for this two types of door?

So in this paragraph, I will discuss about the digital lock that can be use on Metal door. Usually for Metal door not many digital lock can use for it but if you still insist in using digital lock on Metal door, these are the model that you can use, which is Philips 7100 and Xiaomi digital lock and Abrain digital lock.

As for wooden door, all digital lock brand in the market can be use as long as the door thickness is 38mm and above. If your door thickness is 35mm, you can damage your door if you force to install the digital lock or any lock that use Mortise type or deadbolt.

What would you do when your digital lock is not functional like it always should? Buy new one? or repair it?

Certain people would prefer to repair their digital lock first but if already can not use, they may have to buy a new digital lock to replace the old one.

Usually for repairing digital lock, we will investigate (sound like detective XD) the causes that damage the lock, whether its the mortise problem, fingerprint problem, battery problem or motherboard problem.

If battery problem, and the battery acid leak and already affected the Motherboard means can not use already oo. Need to buy new one. This one is very serious problem.

There is one case that happen to one of our customer to their digital lock. They are using a Panasonic battery that cause the leakage of battery acid and damaged the motherboard of this digital lock, thus void your product warranty.

In order to avoid damaging your digital lock, what is the right battery that you can use?

Well for us, we always recommend to our customer to use ENERGIZER battery as this battery is not doing any damage to digital lock motherboard.

And also need to change the battery once a year or before the lock is almost depleted. Don’t worry every digital lock will give a warning or reminder for you to change the battery either in songs or human voice.

Problematic lock especially round knob is commonly happen at our house as this lock could make us lock ourselves in bedroom or outside our house.

Sometimes this type of lock is very easy to have problem as the malfunctioning latch assembly or lock mechanism is the one that cause the problem and can make the lock jammed.
