We received call to repair lock from a client. He complaint that the key part have some problem and can’t turn the lock.
So we go to site to inspect what’s the problem. To our suprise, we detected a partially rotated key cylinder with no key inside. In case you are wondering, it means someone had successfully lock-picked the key cylinder and turned it halfway but did not turn back to original position.
The lock is not unlocked though, because there is one more step to go after picking in order to unlock. Maybe someone seen the guy doing, or he has no enough time to complete it.
We simply rotate the Cylinder back to original position and after that it works perfectly fine.
Owner said he called no one before us. No other locksmith, visitor, or contractor.
We have never met any case of lockpick break-in in Kuching. This is the first, although only halfway. Guess lockpick break in not only happens in James Bond movie nowadays.
