Usually for Metal door not many digital lock can use for it but if you still insist in using digital lock on Metal door, these are the model that you can use, which is Philips 7100 and Xiaomi digital lock and Abrain digital lock.

As for wooden door, all digital lock brand in the market can be use as long as the door thickness is 38mm and above. If your door thickness is 35mm, you can damage your door if you force to install the digital lock or any lock that use Mortise type or deadbolt.

What would you do when your digital lock is not functional like it always should? Buy new one? or repair it?

Certain people would prefer to repair their digital lock first but if already can not use, they may have to buy a new digital lock to replace the old one.

Firstly, Digital lock have the following functions Fingerprint, Pincode, Access card/RF card, Phone app and mechanical key for you to use. Secondly, to use digital lock you need to set your own password and fingerprint in your digital lock user record. How? you can set using Phone app or Enter your master code to enter setting mode. Battery leakage is a constant problem for every digital door lock. But what is the cause of this battery to leak?

The first reason is you are using the WRONG type of batteries that is not suitable with the digital lock. Thus can result the battery acid to leak and damaged the motherboard of digital lock which make the lock to malfunction.

So you need to use Alkaline type battery (AA) and change the battery once a year even if the battery is not yet flat.

The second reason is you need to carefully follow the battery instruction path. Because if you accidently put one the battery in the wrong direction, the battery will become hot which cause the battery acid to leak and damaged the motherboard.
